Someone once said that I was "a man of enthusiasms". I took that as a compliment!
It has always seemed to me that one of the great joys of life, is learning and exploring. That's not something I can do without enthusiasm. Even if I am not enthusiastic to begin with, learning new things, trying to develop new skills and finding out about new places and things always motivates me. I've been like that since I was born and I don't think it is going to stop.
I am a 60-something year old man who took early retirement after more than 35 years as a teacher. I was blessed to work in a variety of schools and spent most of my career as a senior manager, including about 20 years as a successful secondary school Headteacher (High School Principal). Now I am creating a garden, almost from scratch, and building a good life with my wife in the New Forest. that includes spending time with my young granddaughters and her parents. Above all, it means pursuing various enthusiasms; some of which I will write about here.
